 To fulfill our mission, the Institute (along with our strategic partners) administers several innovative and nationally recognized programs which include: NC Statewide Minority Business Enterprise Center™ Established in 2004, the North Carolina Minority Business Enterprise Center (NC MBEC) is a partnership program between the Institute and the U. S. Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). The North Carolina Minority Business Enterprise Center is dedicated to providing technical and financial assistance to existing and emerging minority business across the state. Women’s Business Center of North Carolina The Women's Business Center of North Carolina (WBC) is a partnership program between the Institute and the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The center's mission is to promote economic self-sufficiency for all women of North Carolina through entrepreneurship. The Women's Business Center is specifically designed to provide tools and opportunities to help women entrepreneurs achieve their goals. Minority Executive Education Institute The Minority Executive Education Institute (MEEI) equips minority entrepreneurs with business strategies and tools to overcome their unique business challenges. MEEI works with local universities to provide relevant information that builds the capacity of minority and women owned businesses. Education and Training The Financial Education and Training department focuses on building financial intelligence of business owners and consumers that will increase credit scores, lower debt and enhance the probability of higher net worth among low to moderate income populations and business owners. Healthy Workplace Initiatives The Institute is engaged in several initiatives associated with addressing the differences in health outcomes based on ethnicity, income and other psycho-social issues and the disparity effect on the economy.
